For a long time in Japan there have been master craftmen called 'MIYA-DAIKU'. They are professional carpenters who specialize in shrine and temple architecture. They are highly skilled and known for making full use of each piece of wood.
For example, if they see a gnarled or imperfect piece of wood, they are able to see its full potential instead of seeing it as defect and throwing it away.
Shape determines how an item will be uses.
I believe this what design can do. 'Placing things where they should be' on the assumption that necessity would dictate its use. Try to maximize the potential of things within the limits of the design.
That is our philosphy.
