적응하고 있습니다. 사실 적응하려고 애를 쓴 것도 아닙니다. 달라진 것도 있지만 그대로인 것들이 더 많습니다. 저는 거의 변하지 않은 것 같습니다. 시간이 지날수록 잊혀져 가는 것도 있지만 잊혀지지 않는, 잊지 못하는, 잊어서는 안되는 것들은 더욱 깊어져만 갑니다. 그것들 중에는 좋은 것들도 물론 있지만 좋지 못한 것들이 더 많은 것 같습니다. 저에게 변한 것이라고는 이 정도뿐입니다. 분명 저는 변하고 싶어했습니다. 그리고 변해야만 했습니다. 그렇다고 변하지 않았다는 것은 아닙니다. 다만 스스로가 느끼지 못하는 것뿐이겠죠. 만족하지 못했나 봅니다. 그래서 변화를 원했던 것이겠죠. 지금도 변화를 쫓고 있습니다. 어쩌면 저는 지금까지 변화에 너무 많은 것들을 기대하고 있는 것인지도 모르겠습니다. 하지만 그 변화의 결과가 허무하다 해도 괜찮습니다. 지금 제가 생각하는 저의 모습은 최악이니까요. 이보다 비극적인 사실은 이런 저의 모습에 점점 익숙해져 간다는 것입니다. 걱정입니다. 정말 걱정입니다. 하지만 아무래도 좋습니다. 저는 아직도 벗어나려고 발버둥치고 있습니다. 변하려고 애쓰고 있습니다. 당신은 어떻습니까?

What Is A Wise Man?

What is a wise man? What is wisdom? What does it mean to act wisely? Being wise does not necessarily mean learning a lot of facts or getting a lot of knowledge from books. A wise man understands human nature, relationships among humans, and the complex situations in which humans become involved. Through his own experience and understanding he knows how humans are likely to act and react in a given set of circumstances, and so he makes his own decisions and controls his own acts so that they will have the best possible results, both for himself and for others. Thus a wise man is defined not by what he knows but by what he does.
