A 10-foot buffalo hide teepee hand-sewn by Hiroki Nakamura will be featured in the window display at Dover Street Market London until 10/4.

Teepee were shelters used by nomadic hunter-gather Native Americans. In order to make a 10-foot teepee, 10 buffalo hides are necessary. With the advent of trading posts, from the 19th century onwards canvas became the primary material for teepees.

At the event an indigo-dye craftsman will be conducting a demonstration and customers can also experience the natural-dyeing process themselves. There will be an additional workshop about silk-screen printing with natural-dyes.
